6. You are addicted to your phone.
One of the three main symptoms of cell phone addiction is the fear of leaving home without a cell phone. The other two are the fear of not being able to send or receive text messages and the false sense of being notified. While many scientists are still not comfortable using the word “addiction,” there is evidence that it does.
Most addictions involve the transmission of dopamine. Phones offer the same feel-good experience where users feel happy every time they interact with someone. Negative consequences of excessive cell phone use include low self-esteem, anxiety and even depression.
